the fortitude to fight against the invasion, or have we become so complacent that we would allow ourselves to be over run? I look at all of the peaceniks and I am afraid that we, as a nation, would be doomed. What do you think?

Same as always. 60% would fight, 20% would do nothing, and 20% would exercise the rights that the 60% fought for and say that it was the wrong thing to do.

Let's see after 9-11 everybody was so very proamerca and pro we support our military. Flags and magnetic support our troops things on cars. After a while this went away and the liberal media started the same old stuff.

So if Latin America invaded or even the Muslims blew up a school bus in say Ohio people would start rallying around again. The peaceniks wuld be quiet for a bit then once time would pass they would begin anew saying the government messed up and let it happen. Americans are generally fickle and uneducated about world events and how history, even recent impacts what is going on today. And it is pretty much because the media keeps the american attention span short.

Now it could be argued that what makes america great is the average american does not have to worry day by day about a direct military threat. They don't have to think about how we have troops living, working and dying in places that are not on TV.. They can feel free to form an opinion with no idea of the real situation. But that day has passed as the world has come to us.

And latin america has no reason to invade. Billions of dollars are sent home by illegal immigrants in the US. Without documents one can get a credit card, buy a house, in some places a drivers license, education, welfare, and healthcare. They can watch spanish TV and basically have no reason to put down roots and invest in the US. This happens nowhere else in the world....... only the most powerfull.

Fences and all of that? If latin america pulled something people would demand secure ID. That would stop everything in it's tracks as that would solve everything and probably destroy a few latin american economies. There would be no reason to come here as there would be no money. Latin American countries would be too busy fixing their own problems rather than having time to invade us.

It has been a silent war that has been brewing for a while and now it has become an epidemic.

They can fight back, if they can invade a nuclear country (yes! The US invades! Shock!) they can fight back seemingly unarmed people. But they wont because, many political figures that could possibly do something rely on their vote.

This is an interesting time in history and we will see how this invasion plays out.

What invasion? Mexican immigrants are coming to this country simply because Americans are paying them. If the American business owners stopped paying them for their labor, they wouldn't be here. I don't see too many illegal immigrants filling the most sought after jobs. Not many illegal immigrant CEO's. If the 'rednecks' don't want Mexicans in this country for whatever reason, they should go do their jobs. I don't see too many Larry the Cable guys getting er done picking fruits and vegetables, or trimming grass for extremely low pay. I'm sure the business owners would gladly hire all Americans before Mexicans, but the pay is pretty poor.

I don't think defense would be a problem. Once the rednecks (self included) found out it was hunting season with no limit, it would be very difficult to accomplish an invasion. The USA has more guns per capita than any other place in the world... and that is a fact that is well know to our "brothers" to the south.

obviously hypothetical. what latin America country has the capability to move anything beyond a token force 1000 miles? Costa Rica has no army what-so-ever, although i suppose they could nationalize the police in a pinch. Castro tried missiles and got shut down. do you think Haiti will arm the boat people?

You have to be an idiot. Look at the position of america's largest military bases they are all in that region. If that was to ever happen it wouldn't even be a fight. Collectively they probably have 5 jets and 2 tanks. If you think it would be so easy then why haven't they tried. It's like if you yourself stepped in the ring verse mike tyson.
