Technically, it could be NOTHING, if they don't have their full 40 quarters into it. More than last year's income counts - it's what you've paid into the system, TOTAL, your whole working life, AND you need to have paid for 40 quarters out of the last 60 in order to be eligible.

IF you are that person, you can ask the SSI office for a statement, and they'll tell you what amount you're eligible for. If you are NOT that person, it's private information.
