I have questions about their eyes - sometimes his are a little "bloodshot" at night - but clear in the morning. What causes that? He is 4 years old.

I am not sure about that eye thing.
My mini dachshund's name is Simon. He is my sweetheart. His coat is so slick, smooth and shiny. He is black and tan and I love him sooo much. I dont know what I would do without him. Maybe you could call a vet and ask about Big Jakes blootshot eyes. I certainly hope it's nothing serious.
I wonder, does Jake sleep most of the time like Simon does?

Be sure to love and cuddle him plenty! I'm sure he is adorable.

Ohhh I just LOVE Dachshunds sooo much!!!! LOL

I have a 2 year old male named Copper. I haven't noticed his eyes ever being bloodshot. It could be cause he's sleepy. I'd ask a vet next you go.

Have have 2, 1 male his name is Bigfoot, 1 female her name is Ginger, they are the best dogs I have ever had. I love them very much, but I have not had a problem with there eyes. It doesn't sound like it is anything bad, so just ask the vet the next time you see them.
