Some people can be quite obsessed to be the top answerer. I have checked this out and most points come from their own voting. What do you think guys?

Yes! I have to admit, when I first started answering questions on Yahoo!Answers when it first started I sometimes voted for myself if I thought mine was the best answer. I would also vote someone else’s answer as best because it was a better answer then mine. I do not vote for myself anymore. I feel that if the person put the question into a vote, they did not find the answer they were looking for and I do not deserve any points for that. There is no satisfaction getting picked for “Best Answer” when you voted for yourself.
I do know there are some of those “Top Answerers” are there because when the question they answered goes into a vote, they vote for themselves. There are two people I know of who get the same number of votes each time the question they answered is put to vote. Questions they answer are almost always picked as best by voters. My guess is that they use other accounts to vote for their answers or have paired up with friends to do so. It is amazing what some people do to get into the top! I have seen several who use one account to ask a question, another account to answer, and then the first account to pick their answer! They eventually get suspended when people figure it out and they are reported. There is also someone in the top who only answers questions no one else has answered. The “asker” either picks that answers or that person votes for the answer. I don’t get the obsession of being in the top.
Some here answer an unbelievable amount of questions per day. I bet if there was not a top 10, you would see a huge drop in the number of questions these people answer. I think it is a big competition for many in this category. If you answer a ton a questions per day, you are bound to get a few picked as best and move your way up more quickly. I think the percentage of best answers should hold more weight than then number of best answers.
