Remember to start off small, especially if you havent ran for a while. Only do a few blocks, then increase to a few more. You'll be amazed how fast you are running a mile. Or you can run for 5 minutes, walk for 2, run for 7 (you get the point).
Anyway, think of how many days you want to run. You probably dont want to run two days in a row, and make sure you give your body rest. I run three days a week (Monday, Wed, Fri).
To keep yourself motivated - remember why you want to run, you want that toned body, you want to go to sleep knowing you did more than sit at the computer, you just want that runner's high you will soon become addicted to.
Anyway, a lot of people find rewarding themselves a great way. Think of how often you want to reward yourself. Since you have problems with motivation I would go weekly (dont go less than this). At the end of the week, if you ran your goal each day you were suppose to, give yourself a small treat. A movie, a computer/vedio game, a special desert, eating at your favorite restuarant (it can be anything, just make sure its something you dont allow yourself to have during the week or when you havent completed your goals)

Motivate urself by being positive.Stand infront of the mirror,smile at urself and greet urself cos u deserve a hi just like how u greet anyone else.Do this everyday and u will start feeling good.

Picture yourself after 5 years of continually sitting at the pc. Or picture everyone else on here as being extremly overweight and disgusting. the weather we have been having has'nt helped, but now the Spring has sprung and lighter nights, I'm ready to go. I've joined weight watchers, got off the couch and moved myself. And I'm going to go Swimming and shed more pounds, now I'm on a roll....

start off by walking its much easier to get your head around it
& take less effort then motivation should kick in after a while to start running

imagine theres a bag of money and if your there first you get the lot! Wow and its 5 miles away crickes!
...of course you will ultimately feel very disappointed and deflated once you get there and find an old tramp, a carrier bag and a dog doo
