He didn't build the Kaaba, it was there way before he was born. Arabs before him used to worship statues in there until Muhammad (p.b.u.h) became a prophet and destroyed those stone statues showing the Arabs that the statues are not Gods.

It was a meteor, presumably used as a polytheistic shrine before Mohammed, and then retained as it was such a locally venerated place.
Meteors often were centres of worship in ancient times since they were unusually large rocks, of strange appearance, and so attracted veneration. One of 7 churches in Revelation was in a city that had a large pagan shrine with a meteor.

Well, Muslims say Abraham built it which I believe is wishful thinking.

Little is known of it's pre-Islamic history. The ancient Roman Geographer Ptolmey wrote of it.

For us a 'Muslim' is simply one who believes in One God-(and serves Gods will) so when we say Abraham was a Muslim- it was because he did not join partners with God... and yes, we believe he built the Kabba as God instructed him to do so.
Mohammed (may God be pleased with him) helped to Re-build the Kabba when the walls began to crack, they had to rebuild walls and his grandfather restored the water supply there as well. His family had a deep history of being the keepers of the Kabba long before he was born and the Qur'an was revealed.

Hi Schocko.

The Q'aaba was built by ancient worshippers of Ishtar/Astarte/Isis. The meteor is contained within the shrine.

Well it wasn't Abraham, even if he existed. As it is conspicuously absent from any geographies or histories written in the last three centuries before the rise of Islam.

According to Wikipedia, the Koran says Abraham and Ishmael built it, and Muslim traditions say that Adam built it with Abraham and Ishmael rebuilding it.

Well .. Muslims say that Abraham built it. I just wonder why Abraham or his sons never mentioned anything about it in their books?
