Unless the store gave you a trial period then they have no duty to take the bed back. I would write to the store manager, explaining that the bed is too big for the room etc. and appeal to his good nature. Explain that it would make good business sense to exchange it for something that you are happy with as you will then re-visit and buy further items. This makes for good customer relations in a very competitive environment.

I bought a coffee table and a side table when I got them home they looked awful they were literally out the box for 10 minutes but the store said they are second hand because they had left the store, so I took the tables and stomped down there with the tables all packed up nicely as they were before and plonked them in the shop and had a row with the manager I won after about 20 minutes, my point was that if a can return clothes after keeping them for a good few days I certainly can return these tables, also it was not made clear to me that I would be unable to return the items. so if you haven't used it go and argue with them.

I should have thought that if there is nothing wrong with the bed, that is to say that it is fit for the purpose for which it was purchased, then you do not have a leg to stand on. If it was damaged in some way when you got it home then maybe.

To be certain I would try speaking with consumer advice and they will inform you either way. Good luck.

The only way you could is if they had a "30 day trial" where you could sleep on it.

If the store says you cannot return it, then you cannot return it.

Try ebay or craigslist.

It sounds like it's a simple error with measurement? Unfortunately, therefore, consumer law in the UK states when buying furniture:
You have no rights if you choose the wrong size or give the wrong measurements...
Sorry

Second hand or not, if the store has said you could return the goods, they should keep their words.

Not if you have slept on it unfortunately, you could try selling it on Ebay?
