How much of a threat is China to the USA and why? I've never really researched China all that much and I read something the other day about US and China relations and it got me thinking. If anyone knows anything about this, please enlighten me.

Militarily, the USA would win. If worst came to worst, we have ~10,000 nukes and they have ~100-200. Most likely, it would not come to that, but if it did, we have a clear advantage.

In any conventional war, we have the vast superiority in technology. Yes, China has a far larger army, numerically. However, they don't do them any good if they can't cross the Pacific. We have 9 Nimitz class carriers currently active, and a 10th being built. There is no way they would be able to transport troops to our shores.

Economically, the whole world would loose. We get roughly 70% of all our manufactured goods from China. So if we go to war and trade ends, then we loose 70% of every product off of every store shelf in the country. Our economy would implode, setting off a chain reaction that would plunge the whole world into an economic depression of biblical proportions.

The US has had years to gain military superiority on China ! Although China is on a fast track to catch up to the US, the nuclear superiority in the US arsenal is such that no nation can win, given a tit for tat nuclear exchange.

Granted, China has manpower superiority over the US, and they are building their navy to become a formidable force, but they are not a time proven military power.

China hasn't tested it's meddle on the battle field since the Korean conflict at which time it gave a less than stellar performance. More than likely it has come a long way militarily, but even they aren't so foolish to believe the US would enter a conventional war against them !

china will be absolutely of no treat to the usa
in the near future, they are to busy in developing there country than trowing themselves in a world disaster.
the question taiwan will be solved,by diplomatic effords.
trading is the answer,at the moment.
the chinese will play a bigger roll in world
affairs, but they will be technical still behind for a long time to come.
while they spending more money on the military, the usa is not sitting on there butt, and new smart weapons and protection umbrellas are the new military future.
dont count on the support from the muslims
concerning china there is a large muslim community from ethnic turks (not treated very well)in china to give them plenty headaches, and not making them very populair among the muslims.
there is a far more serious problem going on ,and that is the global warming, special the chinese moving into for example africa
after the colonising countrys and france and the usa,to get hold of all natural recources
i think that china ,with there ruthless ways
in getting acces to those recourses, are doing far more damage to the world than making war, becouse they dont care about things like the environment.
its not in there interest.

china has become a world threat, and a superpower! they can field an army of over 200,000 men, and have nuclear technology, that THE UNITED STATES HELPED THEM WITH! nobody would win, because a conflict between them and us would lead to a nuclear war, with half the worlds populattion getting killed! and civilization would not be the same! china is a sneaky, devious nation, and communist! and we need to not buy into their lies! right now, we are business partners, but their economy will soon be stronger than ours, and they have already stated! we! do not!!! fear the united states!! back in world war 2, eisenhower should have listeded to general douglas mcarthur, who state that china would be a world threat, and should have taken them out, as well as the soviet union, while we had the chance and the means to do so! mcarthur got fired! and we know the history! china hates the U.S no matter what they claim now! and they can just about match us militarily, although i think we still have a slight edge! we canniot underestimate them they are dangerous! does that answer it? china is no real friend of ours! their goal is world domination! believe it!

China will win. Even interior the Bible whilst it talks with regard to the final days, it mentions the rapture and the Kings of the East (China) increasing into ability. usa of america wasn't even suggested interior the Bible, the two we've been already wiped out by using then, or we broke up as a country and anybody moved everywhere else.

Back then, I think the US would win.
In history, China has experienced many humiliating defeats against Japan and especially England.
But now that they've stopped refusing to take in the technologies and other goods, I'm not too sure.
They're densely populated compared to any other countries.
And with the same strategies and weapons.....I think China is has the advantage because of the population.

China's threat to the USA is an economical one and not a military one. China is toppling the strongest economies in the world and sooner than we think, it will be the leading economic power on the planet.

China has the biggest military man power than the U.S. So if it was to be an infantry ground battle, China would win check these stats:

Scenario:Winner:

Ground (man power only): China
Air Power: U.S.
Naval: U.S.
Ground (Tanks...etc) U.S.

Even though the U.S. loses the infantry battle, what you need to invade a country is manpower....

China wins. Hands down. One, they have 100% of their military to play with. Two, every Chinaman is willing to die for his country proudly. Three, they will have the support of every muslim in the world. Four, they have the money and resources to do it. Five, they have a lot more people there than we do.

The war would be fought on our own soil. Our soil is only partially defended and our big cities are too much of our infrastructure. Chicago would be the biggest city to survive the 1st month of fighting.

My opinion, the US really screwed up with going into Iraq. The world that was on our side before is now disliking us for being bullies and attacking and destroying a country that wasn't a threat to us at all. Russia and the middle east would attack England. It would be a slaughter. Our only allies would be taken out with a month's worth of fighting.

america beacuse we have better technology, better wepons, and our soldiers will die for thier squad mates. they will do anything to protect people in the service. our armed forces care about each other and will help each other, just like our soldiers. plus if china invaded the US thy would lose people constantly beacuse every 4/5 people have guns and would use them to kill their infantry. Also they wouldnt get across the pacific w/o getting blown outta the water by our navy. sure they have more people in the armed forces, but can they defend themselves from a more experienced soldier?? AMERICA WOULD WIN
