Who succesfully freed the Iranian hostages from the embasy in London.

Who completely loused up their attempt to free the American Hostages in Tehran.

What makes the best Special forces is Training and innovation, not firepower.

I would rank the best in the world as follows:

1. British
2. Israeli ( remember Entebbe)
3 The French
4 The Americans

Sure everyone would like to think their country is the best but look at their record.Read Andy McNab or talk to Sir Ranulf Fiennes.

SAS definetly but secondly what I say to you is go on read up on both regiments history and u'll know for urself. The SAS helped train the founders of Delta Force, the only reason Delta Force came into existence is because when the SAS trained the SEAL's and left them to their own devices their standards droped for selection because every Dick and Harry wanted to join, then the American goverment called the SAS back to train a new improved unit with higher standards and tougher selection process. So if this does'nt answer your question i dont know what will.

Delta Force. You will have access to the lastest weapons by the #1 super power in the world. I mean, really, how often do you hear of the Special Air Service except for in Brittain? Delta force is far more recognized.

I can't help but mention the idea that all americans will vote for the delta force and all the brits will vote for the special air service. i am american by the way.

properly, The SAS (particular Air provider) is a British particular forces group, and Delta rigidity is American. I dont be responsive to something with regard to the SAS yet Delta is the outstanding of the U.S. Operations Command. So, to be Delta you would be particular forces in a branch and get to the outstanding of that rigidity. and that they recruit you. yet coaching itself, is classed.

Without a doubt the special air service are the best SF in the world.

SAS are 2 steps behind?? You must be 2 steps behind if you think that old pal. I would try 2 steps in front.

There is an old saying.

The Yanks boot Down the front Door whilst The Brits Sneak in the side Window.

The SAS are by far more specialised and professional. One person says why dint you hear about them - because they dint blow their own trumpet all the time. They also have the best equipment available and work with the forces of many nations including the Americans but this is not always publicised and anonymity is encouraged as they do undercover work.

Delta Force...it is the most elite corps out there. SAS is 2 steps behind usually due to intel and tech. This goes for both british and U.S. Forces. SAS tends to be more "by the book" and Delta Force tends to be more "improvised"

The SAS everyone knows that!
Delta force=all the gear, no idea!

Seriously about the forces, you'd never hear an RAF pilot saying "we're goin' a jail dude"

Why does one have to be better than the other???
Always seemed to me that the differences were in the individual NOT the unit.
Maybe a little boy in the cub scouts will be the best trained solder next week.
