It is only because she is 18. HOWEVER. As an 18 year old she still cannot do things like her BF can, such as go out to clubs, etc. Not saying it wont work, but if you have to wait 3 years before doing anything legally, the spark may wear out. They really have nothing in common, and if they do- the man has been out of school for so long he is in a different part of his life.
She should try to stay within a few years of her own age right now, at least until she hits 21. Then it really doesnt matter.
But to be honest, i have seen more than that- a 17 year old with a 34 year old and they ended up getting married and have been for 14 years....

It's not illegal. BUT at 18 she isn't matured to the level of a 27 year old. (even though girls mature faster) There is so much growing emotionally and maturing to do from the age of 18 until around 24-25 that it would be unfair to be with a 27 yeard old. The situation probably won't work out.

I don't see the issue. I am 27 and there is an 18 year old high school senior, really cute girl, who has been flirting with me when I subsitute teach her classes. I would go out with her, except she is one of my students and I could get fired for doing so.
Age shouldn't be a problem as long as she is 18 and an adult why not.

of course it is they are both legal there is absolutely nothing wrong with that even though. It's hard to see what an 18 year old and 27 year old would have in common however opposites do attract.

some people may have a problem with it, but i think its fine. Its a proven fact that men mature slower then females. As long as they like eachother and want to date i don't see an issue. Plus younger women date older men all the time.

Age is just a #. I knew a girl who was 31, she's married to a 58 year old. You go with who you love.

I think that it is ok if she dates a 45 year old guy if they really love each other....age is just a number.

yes legally it is fine. As for the age gap well that is a matter of opinion that can be decided by the ones that are dating.
