I recently used the foaming cleansing wash, designed for dry sensitive skin,
To my horror my face began to feel really uncomfortable and went really red and hot,
The redness went away, but i was left with tender sensitive skin for a few days, and then it became very itchy

I can't get within 5 feet of neutrogena! Almost the same symptoms I had. Throw out whatever product you have and start over! I've never had a problem with clean&clear products and dove products are pretty mild as well.

When I lived near Chicago, I used to use the Neutrogena lip balm religiously. I couldn't go anywhere without having a tube of it in my pocket or purse. When I moved to Southern California though, the change in climate changed the way my lips reacted with the product. My lips started turning raw and constantly cracked in the corners. It was so painful! As soon as I switched to a new lip balm, I was fine. So now I stay clear of Neutrogena! Ouch!

Most of these products warn that if you have a reaction to stop using them. Just read the back of the box it should say it.

Don't let this discourage you though, there's many different cleansers out there you can use. Maybe try a more natural soap and moisturize with a light moisturizer after you are done.

Good luck.
