If so, is everyone's faith reliable or just those of your religion?

Knowledge is reliable because what was once considered knowledge is replaced once it is known to be false. Thus the idea that the Earth is the center of the universe was replaced when new knowledge based on new observations and calculations showed that the old knowledge was incorrect.

Faith is not reliable because there is no mechanism for determining its accuracy and for replacing incorrect faith assumptions. If there was, then there wouldn't be so many contradictory faiths in the world.

Is knowledge reliable? There are quite a few things that humanity has "known" for millennia that turn out not to be true. There are even philosophers that contend that we truly cannot know anything for certain.

Study the field of epistemology for more details and lively debates.

The knowledge is always changing, whereas the faith is never changed. Knowledge sometimes condemns a principle of faith but approves it later on further probe, and vice versa. Faiths and beliefs can be reliable only if they are proved by authoritative knowledge.

I guess one would have to have faith that their faith is reliable, and hope that some one who has a differing belief system has less faith.

The only way I know to answer this is to say that MY Faith is reliable. My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has NEVER let me down. He has gotten me through the worst times and rejoiced with me in the best times!! I pray that you have Jesus in your life as well.
God Bless you

People say their faith is reliable because their faith is reliable because their faith is reliable because...

And people say that different faiths are unreliable because their own faith is reliable because their own faith is reliable because their own faith is reliable because....

Relying on faith results in delusional and circular thinking.

Science knowledge is not absolute.

We use to have 6 planets in the solar system.
Then 7.
Then 8.
Then 9.
Now 8 and a number of planetoids.

Jesus is alive forever more!

I think faith is nonsense, but I would not agree with you that knowledge is reliable. Knowledge is relative and always subject to doubt, discussion, and new insights.

Faith is about our own ability to believe according to our own consciousness. From the Kasidah, Part IV: All faith is false; all faith is true: Truth is shattered mirror strewn in myriad bits, while each believes their tiny bit the whole to own.

Faith is like a vitamin, a little is good, faith in oneself, faith in one's fellows, even faith in a higher being (just a little though), too much is really bad, blind faith, murder for faith etc. Knowledge itself, also no good without wisdom.
