It depends. If you are talking about your physical introduction, some props would be appropriate. If you're talking about your written introduction, I'd suggest a question to get the reader thinking about it or some strong, adjective and imagery packed statements to help them picture Hawaii.

I did this once...
I was born in Hawaii, but live in Alaska... So for my college speech class, I came out in my Parka, Mukluks, and snowshoes... Underneath the parka, was my Hilo Hati paint explosion shirt, my Bermuda shorts, traded my mukluks for flip flops, leis for everyone, etc... the piece de resistance... I brought a mini luau... BBQ pork, fresh pineapple, a few other goodies, and sweet bread (I really needed this grade).
