I was wondering... if Green Tea is so good for humans, maybe it's good for cats and other animals? My cat loves eating grass and such- maybe he'll enjoy green tea leaves?
(i know, it sounds wierd-but it's just out of curiousity.)

Well, cats are carnivores, while humans are not. What's good for us won't unnecessarily be good for them. But, as far as I know green tea is supposed to help cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol levels, cariovascular disease, infection, and impaired immune function. Since cats do get some of these problems, and since I haven't been able to find anything saying green tea is bad for cats, I'd say go for it. :)

It'd be kind of cute to have a cat who likes green tea leaves.

Green tea is very harmful to cats and should not be ingested by them. I have heard of adding a few drops to home-made shampoo and using the tea bags for soothing the eyes.

So it is better to use the cat grass you can buy at most pet stores and even some grocery stores (Whole Foods) if your cat seems to have a yen for "greens".

To follow your logic, would you eat cat food?

if he drinks a little out of your cup it shouldn't hurt him but i wouldn't feed him the leaves since it is a diauretic. it could make him very sick.
