I can only get you started because this a large and deep subject. In any area of life--personal, political, social--there is a difference between truth and falsehood. Let us say someone starts a false rumour about you. This may hurt you at first but eventually the truth will come out: Truth will prevail over falsehood--that is, conquer it. Or take science: Galileo knew that the earth moves around the sun, and not the sun around the earth, as was thought at the time. Galileo's view was suppressed but it eventually prevailed becuse it is the truth. History has many examples of lies told by leaders and nations, which come to be exposed in the course of time. In this matter, time is the friend of truth and the enemy of falsehood. The reflection you quote says too that truth may be weak in the short term but is powerful in the long term.

It means people can be wrong or tell lies, but the truth will finally come out.
