Hi, Thai food is not all spicy food. There are still a lot of food that do not include chilli too.
For example, there are food that is cross-over from Chinese, like chicken in soy (see-you gai), pork leg in soy (khaa muu), roasted porkball (look chin) chiicken in ginger (gai pad khing) as examples.
Plus there are a number of Thai dishes that need not be spicy too.
What you can do is that when ordering, ask for non-spicy dishes as recommended by other posters. These are just as delicious as Thai food is known for. The serving staff will be able to assist you on this.
Otherwise, there are many Western restaurants in Thailand and the food served is definitely not spicy.
So you need not worry about the type of food that you can get in Thailand. Just select what suits your palate and enjoy Thailand.

Lots of Thai food comes with chili on the side so customers can make it as spicy or non-spicy as they want including Phad Thai and Cow Pak; two of the most delicious Thai dishes. Thailand also has a sizeable minority of people that come from a Chinese background - Chinese food is not spicy. Also, Bangkok and every town of any size has loads of KFCs, McDonalds, Pizza Hut as well as plenty of more up-market restaurants serving international food.

There're so many varieties of Thai food, and many of them are not spicy at all. The problem for foreigners visiting Thailand are that not many of them know how to order them. You may ask before order whether it's spicy or too hot for farang (Phed Mhai krub) and tell the waiter that you can't take spicy food (Kin Phed Mai Dai.. can't take hot spicy food). The waiter then will give you some advice for other alternatives.
You can do so at the road vendors that you can't take spicy food. Most of Thai understand why can't farangs take hot food. They may be surprised and feel happy if farangs can take them without problem.
Note: If you like to try spicy food and afraid that it may be too spicy or hot for you then you may order a plate of plain omelette to take with. I normally have ommlette together with Klaeng Phed ... (Hot curry soup with duck, chicken, beef, etc). It will help you not to let the spice burn your mouth.
Do not drink cold water if you accidentally found the food too hot for you, take warm water or drink nothing but close your eyes and let the tears come out.. after few seconds/minutes, you will feel better. If you drink cold water or take the ice, it will simulate the burn and you may have to dance around the table.
Enjoy your meal. Thai food never make me overweighted, i can eat 3 heavy meals with some rice soup at night but in my life I've never been overweighted (only play golf once a week, that's all for my exercise).

There are four main tastes in each Thai dish: hot (spicy), sour, sweet, and salty. The combination of these tastes is what makes Thai food so unusually delicious. If you can't eat spicy food, ask for mai phet (not spicy) or mai sai prik (do not put in chilis). If you do bite into something too hot for your palate, eat some plain rice or noodles. They will soak up the spicy oil; drinking water only spreads the oil around your mouth.

Khao pad (fried rice), Pad thai (noodles), pad pak luem (stir fired veggies are three dishes what are not spicy. quid tee oh nam moo send lek loo chen is a non spicy noodle soup with pork meat balls that is quite tasty. Khao tom is still another (rice soup) not spicy dish. there are also many fish and seafood dishes that fall into the non spicy category. If push comes to shove, there is always McDonald's and Burger King or KFC and Pizza Hut. Good Luck and enjoy!

OK OK Hang on Moon - There are thai dishes that are not spicy.. fried rice [ Khao Phat ] is never spiced, though it is tough to say "never" here.. The noodle soup is delicious and spices are traditionally put on the side - DO NOT ORDER - spicy dishes and ask for it not too spicy.. this does not work as the sauce is often pre-prepared... and for them, not spicy is not the same as for you.. Also, you must be aware that it is often difficult [impolite] for Thai people to respond in the negative.. and in some instances, asking for a spicy dish, with no spice, is like asking for a cheeseburger with no cheese, hold the burger.. There are plenty of Western food outlets especially in Bkk, but it is best to learn what dishes have no "prik" or chili peppers in them.. There is wonderful roast pork - "moo yang" and so many things that are delicious, but not spicy.. good luck... ok, one story, - - my wife's auntie makes som tom and my Thai is pretty ok, so, I told her "Mais sai prik" - no chili peppers and sure enough, I can see the red hot buggers in there - - so, I asked her and reminded her that I wanted no chili - she looked at me really surprised and a little annoyed and said - "I only put one!" - this is what people refer to as Thai logic.. good luck and have a great trip - its fun here
ps - any resort area will have western restaurants aplenty

Well, actually more than half of Thai food is not hot at all. Just stay away from the little green chilli, they're deadly!

Most dishes can be cooked without chili. Just ask the restaurant to cook it that way if they can.
