One symptom of being bi-polar is sudden mood swings. Really up one minute and sad or raging the next.
Only a professional can give you a true diagnosis. Settle the question. Pick your own doctor and have a evaluation. If your family is right, wouldn't it be better to live on an even keel. If you are right you will have the paper to prove it and you can get your family off your case.

Bipolar Disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a serious medical illness that causes shifts in a person's mood, energy, and ability to function. Different from the normal ups and downs that everyone goes through, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe.
Bipolar disorder causes dramatic mood swings—from overly "high" and/or irritable to sad and hopeless, and then back again, often with periods of normal mood in between. Severe changes in energy and behavior go along with these changes in mood. The periods of highs and lows are called episodes of mania and depression.
Signs and symptoms of mania (or a manic episode) include:
* Increased energy, activity, and restlessness
* Excessively "high," overly good, euphoric mood
* Extreme irritability
* Racing thoughts and talking very fast, jumping from one idea to another
* Distractibility, can't concentrate well
* Little sleep needed
* Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers
* Poor judgment
* Spending sprees
* A lasting period of behavior that is different from usual
* Increased sexual drive
* Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications
* Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behavior
* Denial that anything is wrong
A manic episode is diagnosed if elevated mood occurs with three or more of the other symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for 1 week or longer. If the mood is irritable, four additional symptoms must be present.

However, Bipolar is more than just mood swings. Not every woman with PMS has Bipolar. They are extreme mood swings and the mania or depression is so bad that it may affect every day functioning (daily activities, relationships, work).
It is not as prevalent as some think and its highly overdiagnosed. The APA (American Psychiatric Association) which publishes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) estimates that only 2% of the entire population actually has Bipolar.

My mom has bipolar..... If these symptoms are you go see a professional right away and get treatment.
What is Bipolar Disorder?
Everyone has feelings of happiness and sadness once in a while. Feeling high and feeling low are part of life.
But for someone with bipolar disorder (sometimes called bipolar depression), these feelings can be extreme:
These ups and downs can be too much for a person to cope with.
They can interfere with daily life.
Sometimes they can even be dangerous.
The ups and downs
One day you may feel so depressed that you can't get out of bed. Work may seem impossible.
On another day you may feel great and full of endless energy. You may feel like you’re getting a lot done. But other people might think that what you are doing is dangerous and out of control.
Bipolar disorder is a lifelong condition. It can be hard for healthcare providers to diagnose. But it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Learning more about how to manage the condition can help.

Excessive talk; racing thoughts
Inflated self-esteem
Unusual energy; less need for sleep
Impulsiveness, a reckless pursuit of gratification -- shopping sprees, impetuous travel, more and sometimes promiscuous sex, high-risk business investments, fast driving
Hallucinations and or delusions

Depressed mood and low self-esteem
Low energy levels and apathy
Sadness, loneliness, helplessness, guilt

There are numerous diverse varieties of bipolar sickness, some extra intense than others, whether it sounds to me such as you could nicely be stricken by borderline character sickness. Borderlines have a lot of a similar warning signs as bipolars, yet withou the radical mania..... the two way, you are going to be evaluated so which you will take the main suitable direction of therapy. And it particularly is available to be minor haha.... individually, i'm rapid-cycling bipolar that's the main severe type and that i'm significant!!!!!! (And it sucks, yet drugs facilitates.... each so often.....) look on the links under and notice if the symptom descriptions sound in any respect such as you...... And in simple terms on account which you dont pass insane would not advise you at the instant are not INSANE.... lol. i'm on your corner........ look at those links.....

Denial.
Go to a doctor and have it checked out. That way when you get out of your appointment you can call your mom, grandma and aunt and say that you aren't bi-polar.
Doesn't hurt to have it checked.
Good Luck!
