Your 5 sections are,
Meat (Beef), select 3, include Pork as one, Chicken, Fish, Pasta and Salad. As for pricing the range has to decided by the type of product your offering and the demographic you're appealing to, A Steak House vs. Mom and Pop restaurant. Low end $7.50, high end $18.00. In the middle of the road type restaurant you want for each turnover an income of minimum $25.00 per person.

Just make something up and have fun.

I think your menu design is what will be assessed. It shouldn't matter too much what the items are on the menu.

Just concentrate on the table / format / design.

Walk into a cafe / coffee shop and have a look at their menus to get an idea if you're still concerned.

Wow, this brings back memories of my menu writing days. My sections were:

From The Bar (or Libations)
Appetizers
Entrees
Prime Rib (which included other red meats)
Sandwiches
(A sort of "others" page with non-alcoholic drinks, desserts, ala carte stuff)
Kids' meals

A description of say a prime rib cut should say something like "Slow roasted seasoned prime rib done to your liking and served with au jus". For my prime rib Philly it was "Thinly shaved prime rib, cooked in au jus, and smothered with sauteed mushrooms, onions, green peppers and topped with melted cheese, all on a toasted hoagie."

Really, the more creative I got with descriptions, the more the customers would order. You can even dress up things like frozen appetizers. "Beer battered onion rings fried to a delicious golden brown."

If you need any more help or costs, just email me. I did this exact thing for many years! Happy to help!

I'd say go to a couple of local restaurants and pic up their carryout menus. Actually you can even do this online. Do to like pizzahut.com, pfchengs.com, etc...

Menu options...
Appertizers, Soup & Salad, Entrees, Sandwiches, and Dessert sections.

for your sections: appetizers, salads, entrees, side dishes and beverages.
appetizers: cheese sticks, potato skins, nachos
salads: chef, Caesar, garden
entrees: try to think of things you have had before
sides: corn, potatoes, mixed seasonal veggies, apple sauce
beverages: soda, lemonade, tea
for the prices, just make some up.
hope this helped! good luck
