I know there are not alot of GREAT beaches in MN, but I know there must be some place, on either a private beach or public beach in which we can get married. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Otherwise I am looking for a great outdoor wedding location??

My in-laws got married at Lake Mille Lacs. Its a ways away from Minneapolis, but it is pretty nice there. There's a small town called Garrison in the area, and there's the Mille Lacs Hotel and Casino in that area as well (so you'd have a place to put your guests up).

Hi Kayla! I live up here in St. Cloud, but when i was in the cities, there were lots of pretty lakes that would be nice suce as Lake Harriet, or even over by the Como Zoo (I love the waterfall!) but if you want to have BEAUTIFUL- you may want to try up more this way. At Benton Beach right out by Rice, they have an AWESOME lake with a GORGEOUS beach house you can rent and use.

Lake Calhoun or Lake Harriet. Not real sure of the name of the place where my BIL got married but they had a beautiful Japanese garden that is rented out for weddings in St. Paul. It had Conservatory in the name. But it has been 12 years since then and cant remember the full name, sorry.

I know you have already thought about this but please..don't egnore the need for a tent or an indoor location just in case the weather changes! All that work and worry could be ruined in a few moments if the weather goes against you.

What about the Bandshell at Lake Harriet? I don't know if they rent it out or not, but a quick call to the Park & Rec Board could answer that -- its beautiful since it was re-built, and except for the summer concerts it's really not used much.

Como Park used to be great. I haven't been back to the Mpls/StPl area since 1982, but Como was one of my favorite places.

Look for a hotel. They usually have a designated area for outdoor weddings and its pretty cheap.
