My cat lets the most awful farts all day long, and despite changing her diet, continues to do so. The smell is horrid and lingers continuously throughout the apartment, and I’m at my wits end about what to do.

Is it possible that maybe it has something to do with this breed of feline? I’m uncertain of her pedigree, as I found her as a stray along the road. She has a bushy black coat, a prominent bushy tail that she often holds high up in the air, and a white stripe that runs down her back.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ah, yes. The beautiful Persian Striped Stinklett. Unfortunately, you're correct. The gaseous anomaly emanating from your Stinklett (aka 'the LePew Cat') is an unfortunate part of their breed. I'm afraid you'll either have to get used to her odor or move to a warmer climate where you can keep the windows open all day/night long. It's one of the prices you'll have to pay in order to have such a magnificent little critter in your home. One thing you could try is bathing her in warm tomato juice. That will sometimes help, but it's only a very temporary fix.

Changing food would be the first solution, but you have already done that (anyway for cats with this kind of problems dry food is better). You could try and give the cat yeast pills, usually this helps.

I first recommend taking a stool sample and the cat to the vet to be checked out.

But it's also quite possible that in spite of changing the diet, you haven't changed to the RIGHT diet for your cat.

my cats fart alot too :( mainly when I let them down after petting them......wait, I let them down because they farted!

Well, I'm sorry to hear that your cat farts alot....it's hard to get used to something that smells so rank isn't it?

I'm having a little too much fun typing fart.......

I just had to give you a star for this question :) I must admit that I giggled like a little school girl while reading your question...

Okay, I apologize for that.

Anyway, some cats just fart more then others. Apart from changing diet, I don't think there's much you can do.

I think your cat has been fooling you and hiding the fact that she's really a skunk.
