I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I'm 27, but when I was 19 my bodyfat dropped to 8%. I was eating a lot, but had started working out with a trainer, and it turns out, I was doing a little too much cardio, so my periods stopped. It was a huge red flag that I had gotten too small. It is really dangerous to get that small, it basically means your body stopped a function, because it couldn't support it anymore. Weight isn't so much the issue as body fat. Anorexics are clinically obese, because they eat so little that their bodies has broken down lean muscle and hung on to the fat. Eat a balance diet, exercise regularly, and monitor your fat loss with a tool like the accu-measure. ($20 at GNC) Be careful not to let yourself get under 10% bodyfat. If you want your periods to stop intentionally, try Depo-Provera, talk to your gynocologist about it.

Reading between the lines, I'd say there's more to your question than what we see here. Please do not look for an "excuse" to lose enough weight to damage your health. The short answer to your question is "enough to put your bodily functions at risk." Learn to honor your body by doing things that encourage health, not style, convenience or attraction. After all . . .

A healthy body is always stylish.
A healthy body is way more convenient than an unhealthy one.
A healthy body is way more attractive than an unhealthy one.

If this is for someone else you are asking for, then please pass this word of caution and encouragement on to her.

God bless!

Why would you want to do that? You would have to be almost nothing and you are only going to destroy your vital organs and can die from this. Your period can stop from malnutrition otherwise wait till menopause or try to talk to your doctor about a birthcontrol that can help.

For a woman...
typically 11% bodyfat is the cut off point.
(that is very lean.) 19% is concidered low / lean for a woman.

Fitness models and female bodybuilders stop having their period for a few weeks before the show, because they get too lean. It comes back worse typically when you do gain a few pounds though.

you probably won't lose it completely, but if you lose a lot of weight in little time, it can get complicated. my sister lost a lot of weight in little time (don't know how much exactly) an she had a period for three days then two days nothing then three days then two days nothing etc. and she had to take pills to regulate that. it's very dangerous, if you wanna lose weight, do it slowly

Severely underweight people can have irregular periods due to malnutrition. If your goal is to have your period stop, I would talk to an OB. They can use birth control to manipulate your period.

It depends on the person. You have to have a very low body fat percentage, usually lower than 10. This is common in anorexics. It also means they're more than likely to never be able to have children.

I think that you should not concern your self with that. Periods stop for all kinds of reasons
