Everytime my boyfriend buys me something, he always has to tell me how much he spent. I am a very appreciative person, so I always tell him thank you, so why does he feel the need to tell me the price on gifts, like X-Mas items??

Probably to get some amazed response from you about how much he spends on you, so he can use it in a future argument about how much he cares about you, or to say he cares more about you then you about him...its pretty much an immature thing to do.

That's a question only your b/f can answer. I think it's tacky to reveal what one has spent for a gift. It's the thought that counts.

He feels Insecure, he thinks you will be Impressed by the amount of dosh he is spending on you. Or he is just a Meany and he is saying you had better be good to him because of all the money he is spending on you.

he thinks you only value him for his $
he wants you to buy him things in that price range also
he wants you to know he'll be a little short on funds today
he places an awful lot of importance on what things cost...either because he wants to get good value or, he values the monetary world too much

Apparantly the price is important to him. But to know for sure, you need to ask him. Or at very least, discuss your feelings about it with him. If you dont mention it, he wont know that he's possibly offending you.

I really cant say. every one on this site will tell u what they think but ur b/f will tell u the reason he chooses to tell u the price so sweetheart ask him but pls be tactful about it so u dont hurt his feelings.

Because he wants his ego stroked and wants to point out how generous he's being. That sort of attitude gets old really quickly.

ya maybe u tell him abt this indirectly as u feel bad abt it. but I think he wants to make u feel that he feels u r special for him and would spend anything for u. u just need to reciprocate that u do care for him and understand him very well.

he wants you to be impressed by how much he is spending or he wants to make sure when he gets a gift from you that is expensive
