It depends on a lot of things. First it depends on if the vet will euthanize the animal. If there is no medical reason then some vets will refuse to euthanize an animal just because. They may tell you to put it in a shelter. Second you will need to be the legal owner of the dog because by law (or at least in Oklahoma) the owner has to sign a consent form saying that it is their dog and that it has not bitten anyone in the last 10 days (Rabies precausion). Also the vets may be leary too because I know there have been cases of husbands euthanizing wifes dog during a divorce and getting in trouble that way. Well if everything else checks out and you are the owner and your dog has a real reason for being euthanized then it depends on the size of the dog. the cost for euthanisia for a chihuahua is a lot less then that of a Great Dane. Then the last cost you may encounter is what you do with the body after it has passed on. Some vets will take care of the dogs. Here in "Podunk" a lot of the vets just load the dogs up and a creamation service comes and picks up the dogs or they bury them on their property. In bigger cities they may offer for individual cremation where you get the pets ashes back or mass cremation where they spread the pets ashes in a memorial garden for pets. Then of course you can always take your pet home and bury them at your house. Those are the main influences on price the weight and the disposal of the pet and also it varies from rural areas and cities. So I would call your local vets and see what the price of euthanazing costs at each one and go from there. I am sorry that you are having to euthanize your dog. this is a hard time and I wish you luck.

That depends on the size of the dog, but I know that in Orlando, Florida, it costs $45 dollars to put a cat to sleep (and there are some small breeds of dogs that are the same sizes as cats) and somewhere around $75 dollars to put a medium-sized dog to sleep.

Aw....why are you asking this question? Depends on what you want done...some vets will cremate the body for you and put the ashes in an urn for you to have and they will charge one fee for that service. Then it depends on what size the animal is and what sort of urn you want. Or you can have them dispose of the body and the charge is less. I'm very sorry for you if you have to do that, it is a very difficult thing to go through (assuming you love the pet).

Like everyone else said, it depends on the size of the dog, how much the vet charges for the euthinasia, and what you want done to the dogs body.
Just this year I had my 55lb dog put to sleep. We went with the usual group burial, no headstone, no visitations, and the total bill at my vet came to about $98.
If you want special burial requirements, it will cost more (like special caskets, headstone). If you want cremation it will cost more (paying for the urn).
If I were you, I would just call my vet and ask them what they charge for the euthinasia, and whatever you want done with the dogs body. Prices will vary from vet. to vet., so you are better off just calling your local vet. office, and asking them.

It depends on the size of the dog, and your vet.. Medium sized dog is usually about $80-$100. Small breeds are obviously less.

Depends on where your live and the size of the dog.
For a large breed dog it may run you up to 80 dollars, but for a small breed much less.

My vet doesn't charge her clients/patients a dime. She does it out of courtesy. I am sure there aren't many vets that has a big heart like her. I can't tell you a price since she is the only one that has euthanized a dog for me and I had to have two done.

Omg! Poor dog! Why do you want to do that?? It better be for a good reason...Like, the dog is suffering and nothing can be done to help it. I do not know what it costs to put a dog to sleep...Since I have never done it before.

as everyone above has said, it depends on size and where you want your dog to lay rest. ours was a total of 130. that was for the visit, the shot, and then to have him cremated.
