I suspect as usual it all depends on the laws set by your governments/state etc.
Over Hear in britan yes, you may hunt with an air rife, though there is not alot that an air rifel will kill, its mainly rabbits, pigeons, squirles over hear.
Seek some advice from a dealer about which rifle to choos then equip it with a decent set of sights.
A hunter is pasionet about what he dose and you owe it to what ever you hunt to do the job quickley and effectively Ie Pull the trigger dead it becomes (an outright kill) I know it dose not all ways work like that but thats what we aim to do.

Can you hunt with pellet guns? Only if it is legal to do so in your State. Check with parks n wildlife in your area.

Pellet guns can take very small game like bullfrogs, birds and squirrels but are poor to marginal on larger small game like rabbit and such. I've known people who have killed large Western Diamondback rattlesnakes with pellet guns but the pellet gun was a 'weapon of opportunity.'

Good luck.

What in the world are you thinking? Do you plan to eat the parakeet you shoot? Are you just killing for fun?Sure people tell you that sure you can but, there are too many variables that can slow down your pellet and you can have 600 fps but what is the striking power needed to properly kill an animal? If you like to wound more animals than you kill then it is a good choice.Otherwise stick to shooting cans.Practice with your pellets then you can move up to a .22.

If it is legal in your area, yes you can - many people do hunt with air powered pellet guns.

GAMO makes air rifles specifically for hunting. These are accurate and have the velocity to make a clean kill. If you are hunting with an air rifle, it should have a velocity of at least 800-900fps to ensure a clean kill for ethical hunting. You can take non-protected, non-song birds and small game (squirrel) as well as pest control (snakes, rodents, starlings, pigeons).

Yes you can, as long as you can hit your target. Also helps if your air gun has enough power to kill your target... i.e. please don't shoot a deer or turkey with a pellet gun, they are too muscular for the pellet to kill them.

Yes, just make sure you have enough power and proper shot placement to humanely kill the bird.

If you like birds, why would you want to kill them. If you're that hungry for bird meat, try going to the grocery store. It's cheaper than a pellet gun and you don't have to kill any thing.
