Lately when I try to watch a movie on my DVD player I can barely hear the sound from the movie. I have to turn the volume on my tv up to the highest level. I checked the cables to see if they are in the right sockets..the appear to be in order. I checked to see if there is a volume control for the DVD itself but there isn't any. I checked the program settings too.The DVD player was working fine a while ago. I don't think any cables or buttons were tampered with..Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

Not sure what might help you but had similar problems. I unplugged everything (TV, cable box, DVD) and after a minute, plugged them all back in. They reset themselves. It worked. You could check to see if the DVD player has a volume control in one of the setup menus. Sometimes, they hide stuff. You might also try one of those DVD cleaning devices. Perhaps the part of the player that reads sound is dirty. You could always check with the manufacturer. Good luck.

Maybe its the type of movies you are watching. If they are downloaded and home made they will appear to play lower. It usually is the cd or dvd itself and seldom the player. Try the same movies in a different player. If they play normally then take your player to the shop for service. You also might want to get a cleaner disk for the player. If dust gets in there it will decrease the outcome too. Good Luck!
