For that color red, you'd get the best results at a salon. I was with a guy who bleached his hair and dyed it all sorts of colors. He used Beyond Zone and would do it at home. It always came out great, except for the one time he tried doing it bright red. It came out bright magenta. I kid you not, his hair was pink. I'd get it done professionally if I were you. At least if it turns out wrong, they'll correct it.

You don't have to go to a salon....
Get a high volume lift bleach (40%) from a beauty supply store, follow directions, leaving product on for the longest duration allowed, usually 45 min. max.
You will have successfully stripped enough pigment to now apply the Red Color.
Read the product labels though as often these extreme colors are temporary or semi permanent which means they'll continuously wash out each time you shampoo, get permanent if you want it to last.
Use Color safe shampoo.

Why would you want to do that??? If you do not like it, no matter what color you dye it, it will always have an orange tint. If you want it done the best way, go to a salon. There, you can ask them if they think that color would look good with your complection or what shade of orange.
