These people didn't answer your question, which is "Which language is EASIER?". They told you which one is prettier to learn. My answer to your question is that Italian is harder to learn. It has more rules to master and yet a lot more exceptions to the rules to memorize.

I believe so. I have been studying Italian for the past 3 years, and it has been nothing but a cake walk. For instance, once you know the pronunciation of the letters, you can always pronounce the words, for they are pronounced the exact same way that they are spelled, with minor exceptions such as "chi" and "che."
Since you know some French, Italian will come somewhat easier to you than if a purely English-speaking person were to pick it up.
In Italian, you don't have the "j," "g," or "y" sounds to deal with, which is a nice little plus, but you also don't get the large amount of people who would understand you like you do in Spanish.
I, personally, love the Italian language and didn't want to take Spanish because I believed (and still do) that it was far too common, though a beautiful language all the same. I already know one of the most common languages on Earth (and certainly the widest-spoken one), so I decided to go with the underdog, and I have never regretted that decision.

Spanish and Italian are very similar because they have the same root (Latin). When a Italian speaks we can understand what they are saying the same happen when we speak Spanish. We can even read the language for the similarity. I think that you could be able to learn both languages, is you opt for Italian then it is going to be easier for you to learn Spanish and viceversa. It is wonderful that you want to learn as many language that you can, now days in this world with a massive ways of communication would be a plus for you to be polyglot (that means that you are able to speak three language or more). Good luck. Ah, and for the person who says that Italian because food, culture, what about the Spanish culture? Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Cuba, etc, etc.

The previous answer is right. Italian is more complicated than Spanish. It has a more complicated Grammar. You have to differentiate everything by gender and number, even more than in Spanish. And there are some grammatical complements used in the sentences that don't exist in Spanish.
It's true that both languages are similar and if you speak one you can understand many things of the other one. The pronunciation is also similar (compared to other languages).
But if you want to speak them well, with a correct Grammar, then if Spanish is usually complicated to English-speaker, Italian is even more complicated.
Both are beautiful, though, and of course you have beautiful things to read in both of them.

Hi, I'm Spanish and I must say that Spanish and Italian are quite similar, it depends on what is your mother tongue, for instance for someone who speaks Romanian is easier to learn Italian, and for someone who speaks Portuguese is easier to learn Spanish, but if you don't speak a Latin language they don't have differences about difficulty, choose the one that you prefer because of culture or the use that you can give to it...

For me it is.
Italian is quite nice, and in addition the Italians have a long history of art, artchitecture, music and cuisine which is molto fun and you might find more to read in Italian than in Spanish.
It has a beautiful sound. The everyday greetings are gentle and suave.
