Is getting a tattoo because someone died a sin. Or is it when ol' Auntie Gert comes from the grave and tells you to get one for her the sin. I am confused. Auntie Gert is really pushing me. Wouldn't want to be a sinner.

Well looks like im a sinner i have a memorial tattoo for my mom and a few friends of mine that died in the same month on the back of my leg and is kinda dark and gothic but from what i heard from alot of people is that if you get the name of the person that died on you is the sin and not the tattoo itself but i could be wrong and personly i dont care we are all sinners anyway right ? and we will be forgiven for our sins later down the road if we ask for forgivness right so whats it matter anyway if its a sin or not....

No, it's not a sin, and I'll tell you why. My mom died last November and I'm the kind of person who keeps my feelings bottled up inside.

Why I was helping all of my family members cope with the situation, I never had the chance to address my own feelings, or really discuss the way her passing effected me with anyone.

So, a couple of weeks ago I got a huge tattoo running down from my shoulder to my elbow in tribute of my mom.

And I've found myself explaining the meaning of the tattoo to various friends ever since. When explaning, I find myself telling the deep and emotional story behind it. Which means I'm opening up my emotions and letting them out, which brings closure for me.

If that is sinning and it's wrong, I don't wanna be right :)

this will be debated forever....but mostly by nits. As a matter of a fact new research suggests that Jesus himself had tattoos. It says so in the bible. His leg is marked with reference to his status. I call that a tattoo, as well as the rest of the sane gang I call Earth people. Look, not everyone is with the "Earth People". you seem like a grounded guy...and your posted questions usually are funny as hell.

No..I don't think it is a sin. If someone you love dearly dies, that isa permanent scar on your heart. So, I think tattoos are fine. I don't think God sees tattoos as cutting yourself.

You DO know there is a special place in hell for the tattooed......I'm looking forward to putting faces to all the tattoos as we hang out together drinking hot damn, and bugging Satan with our tattoo/piercing questions....What ya wanna bet he winds up kicking us upstairs for being too drunk, loud and rowdy for hell?
