I want to get a tattoo on my side. Would that stretch out if I got pregnant years down the road? Is that a painful spot? I want to get a tattoo but I dont want it to be in a spot where everyone can see it. I want it to be a peek a boo tattoo.

I hear that ribcage area tattoos are terribly painful. If you get pregnant, just take care of yourself and get back in shape after the baby is here and you should be fine.

Yeah it would stretch!! Of course it will be painful. My gf got one a little lower than you want, but it hurt. The side would be more painful than 'down there' tho cuz the skin is tighter down there. Her tattoo was a peek-a-boo one too and now she is pregnant and it's coming and peeking to everyone!! lol...for a good peek-a-boo spot, try the shoulder blade...that won't hurt that bad either..but all tatoos have a little pain.

The closer a tattoo is to the bone, the more it will hurt. It will stretch out when you are pregnant, but should return to normal after you give birth. Tattoos will stretch with the skin. Of course, I am not accounting for stretch marks in that equation. If you are worried about it stretching out, go for a tattoo on your back.

It most likely would stretch during pregnancy, but it should return to normal after the baby. It may need some touch ups afterwards.

Side tattoos hurt quite a bit. Like the underside of your upper arm. I've heard of artists refusing to do them for a first tat. I've also seen a lot of side tats that have been started and never finished.

That said, if you want it, go for it!

I have one on my side. & I have kids. It's about as painful as anywhere else, about an average spot...it's just a little 'odd' feeling, I hope you're not too ticklish. :P & mine doesn't look deformed. It's gotten a little faded & a few stretch marks have found their way right into the lines of the tattoo making the lines seem fatter, but it still looks the way it's supposed to. ^_^

i have had 7 hours of the outline tattooed on my sides and 11/2 hours of colour done so far . it is the most painful tattoo i have got so far.The outline is not to bad in some area's, the colouring is the worst because it gets very tender. i will only be doing 11/2 hours at the max to get the rest coloured

Yes, it may stretch out during pregnancy, yes it will hurt. They all hurt, but the sensitive skin along the ribs is painful for most. Lower back is a good spot, so is your shoulder blade. I have one there and no one sees it, except when I wear a bathing suit.

do u mean your side like your ribs or the side of your lower back?

i have one on the side of my lower back and it was ok...hurts but bearable...but at the same time....lots of people have tattoos along their ribs and they're ok...you should get the tattoo where you WANT...not where you think it's going to hurt least.

you can't guess how much your body willor won't stretch during pregnancy. depending where it is some stretchmarks may wreck it in places.

and everyspot is painfull differently for everyone. you'll have to see . try scraping the area with a sewing needle or a pin and see how much it hurts.
