Nov 06,I kissed a lady for a few min-that is it.A few weeks later I had white dots on the side of my tongue. I went to a walk in and they put me on nystatin-2 days later I went to my MD and he said it is Oral Thrush. He put me on 2 tab of fluconazole. It helped but came back.End of Dec, I did full blood work.My immune system was fine. Well as Feb rolled around it was still there- I did get the HIV test- it was neg.He looked at my tongue and noticed that the thrush is still there and spreading to the back of my tongue. He has put me on fluconazloe for 7 days-1 tablet a day.Could I have received this by kissing the lady? Also, all it says about this when reading about it is that it is HIVrelated.I got tested in Feb and it was neg. Can I have the symptoms but the test result be wrong?Should I get tested again since the thrush is spreading. My MD said if it spreads to the esophagus then it is serious but how do I stop that? When I read about esophagus candiditis that is a AIDS defining illness

This is with regards to the previous question. The person that I kissed is taking a HIV test to easy my conscious. If that comes out negative along with my negative test then there is no way it can be HIV correct? Then there is no point to get tested later on? Cobramom can I get your email? I do not take other antibiotics at all....

Oral candida infection (thrush) is not specifically related to HIV and just because you get an infection, this does not mean you are HIV positive. It shows up in the more advanced stages of HIV anyway - when you would definitely have a positve test result. Thrush is actually very common especially if you have been taking antibiotics (other than the fluconazole which specifically targets cadida albicans). The bacteria that causes the infection is the same as a vaginal yeast infection. Yes, it is highly possible that you caught it from the woman you kissed. As for your recurring problem - you may be reinfecting yourself. After you complete your next treatment, change your toothbrush. Also, try eating yogurt (I love the danactive yogurt drinks). It contains live cultures which will help get your natural bacteria balanced out. And if you consume a lot of sweets and/or alcohol - cut it out. These items are a breeding ground for yeast. There's a lot of good info here: http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/dental-health-thrush. And if you are worried so much about HIV maybe you need a lifestyle change as well....!

back in high school i did a term paper on hiv and aids. usually it can take up to 10 years for you to show symptoms of hiv or aids. and if the test come back neg, then more then likely you do not have it. basically you can be diagnosed and not have symptoms of it for a little while or years after. If you are still unsure you should try a different doctor and get retested it can not hurt. Yes you can get soemthing from kissing soemone. Basically an std that you got in your month. But if the doc keeps putting you on the same meds everytime you break out. you diffenetly need to switch doctors or see a specialist cause that is the basic sign that he/she does not really know what it is that you are getting.

This is what you do keep going to the docter to treat the thrush, you dont have HIV so stop thinking about it, you cant get aids from kissing someone, they reckon you need to drink ten litres of an infected person;s saliva to have a chance of cotracting it. A nurse that deals with aids patients told me that unless you're having vigorous sex with an infected person or sharing injecting equipment that your pretty much safe.

check with a natural food market, they can probably help you with the research. but i suspect it is yeast related. you can help your body,s natural ability to fight this off with some good bacteria. ask for some acidophilus. it is pro-biotic which encourages the growth of healthy flora in your body. it is naturally occurring in cultured food like yogurt. and can also be found in a pure powdered form that you can mix with water and drink and use as an oral rinse.the anti-biotics that have been prescribed to you are killing bacteria indiscriminately, taking out the good with the bad. you need to replace the good bacteria in your system.
