All of us knows about eye donation but i want to know which part or tissue of eye we are talking about?
Does they ask for whole eye donation Or a part or tissue of eye? And whatever the case is then what about (immune) rejection mechanism? How do they overcome it? Perhaps, i know the answer but i want to confirm it.

The whole eye is accepted. Then the cornea is used for cornea transplant surgery and sometimes the sclera is used.
Rejection is less of a problem because both are non-vascular tissues, so it is harder for rejection antibodies to get to them.

Only the cornea is used for transplant. They basically prepare a corneal button, although they may take the entire eye at times.

Any foreign tissue has to face an immune onslaught by the immune system of the recipient. The cornea is avascular (has no blood vessels to supply it) hence is less likely to be rejected. To prevent a rejection immunosuppresant drugs can be given, although this is more in practise with kidney/ liver/heart-lung transplants.

I am very sure that it is the cornea that is transplanted. The other tissues of the eye die very soon after death but the can live for the maximum of three hours.

it refers to the extraction of eye from a person who has been confirmed to be a brain dead person. The whole eye is taken.
