ok at break time our bosses give recognition to some employees. she seems to always recognise the guys that work in the back. it seems like she never recognizes any of the women. shes always yelling at"ok not yellin at but" telling the women that they arent working fast enough . last night for instance, I was emtying the box crusher because it was full and no one else was doing it. there was a whole mess of cardbord that needed to go in.. I just learned how to do it and am the only woman there who knows how. well instead of thanking me for taking care of the problem that was arising she came back and told me to let one of the guys do it. (i had already finished with one and had started on the outher one because we have 2)
Is this behavior typical of a woman superviser?????

Well look at it this way, Men need constant re-assuring or atleat think of that in your head. She actually sounded like she could be a little concerned about you hurting yourself by telling you to have a guy do the box crusher. Women bosses do sometimes tend to favor men it is all in our nature. Females just have a hard time getting along with other females in general. Not only in the work place but in any social enviroment as a whole. Don't let it get to you, put in your hours collect your check and go home leaving it all behind!!! If it still bothers you; you may want to consider another place for employment!

I don't believe these issues can be generalised. The world of Bosses is not simple enough to be clearly categorised into male and female bosses.
However it is common finding that men are competitors while women are team-workers. If this were true, women would find men easier to work with as men possess a different set of skills whereas women would be more alike in their skills. Thus women bosses may sometimes ignore women co-workers or prefer male co-workers. Men being competitors may prefer anyone who is easily dictated to.

most female bosses actually treat male employees worse than female employees, b/c they feel that they had to work harder than a man to get to that position( in some cases is true) so they make the men under them pay.......... but in some cases they may treat the other females not so well b/c they may see them as a threat for whatever reason......... so you might want to consider it as somewhat of a compliment

I wouldnt say typical...but believable....but you could address this further and ask a supervisor why cant you work on the machine just as well as the guys...could be discrimination if you pushed hard enuf...good luck
