They dont, one is defined as Christian if he/she believes in Christ as Savior, God and King and if one believes in the Holy Trinity. These define a Christian, to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. Follow the Ten Commandments and believe with all selflessness that Christ died for you.

Ask yourself what is a Christian. Here is the definition of a Christian -- and this is from a religiously neutral source -- THE DICTIONARY.

Chris·tian Pronunciation (krschn)
adj.
1. Professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. Relating to or derived from Jesus or Jesus's teachings.
3. Manifesting the qualities or spirit of Jesus; Christlike.
4. Relating to or characteristic of Christianity or its adherents.
5. Showing a loving concern for others; humane.
n.
1. One who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.

Now, if one doesn't believe in any part of the above definition to what a Christian is, then they're not a Christian. How could they be? They say "no I don't believe any of that" so, they've professed that they are not Christian.

It's logic!

They do not; the Bible does, and the Bible clearly states that right wing evangelical Christians are the only true Christians there can be.

They're the loudest. In addition, it's very attractive to people to have a nice, neatly defined, accessible God. The idea of the infinite is entirely too frightening to contemplate, so if we can put God in a cute little marketable package, we'll be much happier.

Who said they did? I know lots of old school country preachers that get paid about $300 a week that define Christianity to me.

I was not aware that they did.

I am none of those things, by modern definition. Yet I guarantee that I am a Christian. God made sure of that - in the font of Holy Baptism.

"Being a Christian" is nothing we can do on our own. It is a gift of God.

The "definition" is discovered by reading the Bible.
The Bible is the final authority, and defines all quite perfectly.

They do not have such a right, nor have I heard any of them claim such a right. Scripture defines who is Christian and who is not.
