We are looking in Fort Lauderdale because we want to go on a cruise for our honeymoon. Where is a good place for just the bride & groom to get married? What are their requirements? What should I wear?(dress,pants,etc..)

A marriage license may be obtained at the:
Main Broward County Courthouse
Marriage Division
201 S. E. 6th Street, Room 270
Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The standard marriage license fee is $93.50 and includes a 3-day waiting period before a marriage ceremony can be performed. The only exceptions to the 3-day waiting period are:
-If the applicants reside out-of-state and are able to present valid proof of photo identification at the time of filing the marriage license application.
-If the applicants present an original pre-marital course completion certificate at the time of filing the marriage license application. The optional premarital course may be obtained from a course provider who is registered with the Broward Clerk of Courts (listing available at www.browardclerk.org). If the couple elects the option to attend a State of Florida pre-marital course from a registered provider, the marriage license fee is lowered to $61.00 and the waiting period is waived upon providing a certificate of completion at the time of filing the application.

Prior to obtaining a marriage license, both parties must sign an affidavit indicating they have read the Family Law Handbook. (available online at the www.browardclerk.org)

A Civil Marriage ceremony can be performed at the Main Broward County Courthouse for an additional cost of thirty ($30.00) dollars. No witnesses are required for a Civil Marriage ceremony, however they are recommended.

There are also chapels in the area where the just the two of you can get married:

I live in Fort Lauderdale, and have been to many weddings on the beach and on yatchs, why dont you look in the areas yellow pages and find a notery and have them meet you at the beach should be less than $100.00 make sure you have all the necessary licences , those you get at the Broward County Couthouse on SE 6TH street I believe it takes a couple of days for the license so call and get the 411 first

The only way you will know the requirements to marry there is to call the FT Lauderdale city hall...if they have a wait time on a marriage licence(which most states do) It could put your wedding off if you just show up there and expect to get a licence....what should you wear...whatever you want its your wedding...wear a huge ball gown if that what you choose..as far as where....hmmm...maybe a nice park or a beach..here is a site that may give you a few ideas
