I'm a private artist- I can design a tattoo for you, but you will still need a very good professional tattooist to draw it out and apply it to your skin! Drawing on paper, and on a human body are very different as paper is flat, and the human body is a shaped canvas! If you know what you want, I can draft up a final design. Depending on how much work there is, I generally won't charge, but may do if it's a complicated piece (I have to make a living somehow ^_^ ) I can also write out advice for the tattoo artist that you see who will ink it onto you, so you can get it just right. Colours etc and pigments are hard to transfer accurately and tattoo parlours often like as much info as they can get. I will also draw out the linework alone so it's easier to transfer.

You can contact me on missytetra@yahoo.co.uk. I'd love to work with you, as I consider it the ultimate compliment for my artwork to be used as a tattoo!! I hope I can help ^_^

Go to a tattoo shop and look through some portfolios. When you decide which artist you like the most, you can shoot them ideas for your tattoo. Sometimes they charge a "drawing fee." This is usually not very much and goes towards the price of the tattoo. Tattoo artists love to do custom work, especially if you let them use their imagination. Don't settle until you are happy with the design. Good luck.

Second to blair, most artists get paid for custom drawing. Why draw up free what we can be paid for by our own clientele. Go around your local shops, Yellow book it if you're not sure where they are. Check their talent and cleanliness, and make sure you feel comfortable with them. They should be happy to help you out.
