I'm quite lazy when it comes to cooking, and many of my meals come out of the microwave courtesy of Tesco which is not ideal. However the alternative is fast food (which is worse)

I do cook things from time to time, such as steak/salmon/pork chops etc and do veg and potatoes too but there isn't so much variety with those few things.

Any ideas for anything else I should try?

Whatever you do make always make more of it and freeze portions of it. That way you have your own ready meals. In my freezer I have homemade lasagna, spagetti sauce ( made from sauteed peppers, onions, cougettes, a couple of tines of tomatoes and blitzed in a food processor then I use this in my lasagna and pizza topping), pizzas, curry, pancakes,
I read they book Cook for a day eat for a month by Deborah Taylor-Hough or look at the site http://groups.yahoo.com/group/frozen-assets/

Pasta is quick, easy and cheap and SO VERSATILE - you can either make or buy lots of different sauces and serve with many different things like salad, crusty bread... How about using a steamer to steam fish and new potatoes - tasty and healthy... A salad is also healthy and you could always add a grilled chicken breast or tuna or salmon steak to pad it out. Another good one is a stir fry - throw in pretty much anything. Experiment and enjoy! Some useful websites are Delia Smith online, www.bbc.co.uk/food or you could just do an internet search...

Try homemade Shake N Bake. Get a large plastic bag, dump in about a cup or so of any kind of bread crumbs and a packet of food seasoning. Every grocery store has a section with packets of powdered hollandaise, taco seasoning, gravy, mexican spices etc. My favorite is powdered ranch dressing.

With that much you can prepare one of those max paks of chicken, or several pork chops, whatever. Just drop them in one at a time, skinned or not acording to your taste. Shake, then remove and place on an aluminum foil-covered cookie sheet. Cook at 350 degrees for half an hour, turn them over, then cook for another half hour. Cut into one to make sure they're done and serve 'em up.

If you want to, you can dump a bag of tater tots or frozen fries onto another foiled cookie sheet and put them in when you turn the chicken. Eat what you like and put the rest in the freezer or fridge in ziploc bags for later.

soups and stews are good for you, as well as being really easy to make. you can chuck in all sorts of fresh veg and can make them both up in big batches to freeze for later eating.

i personally don't think you need recipes for either as i just chuck in either what i feel like eating at the time, or whatever i've got in the kitchen.
