You are accused of not supporting our troops because many, many, people today link the military with the current administration, believing the military shares the same views as those in office. Therefore, if you don't support the current administration or the wars they started, people think you don't support the military. If people understood that the Military is not an organization with a political agenda, there wouldn't be this misunderstanding. An interesting fact for you to point out to whoever is accusing you of not supporting our troops is that the vast majority of people in the military, including the higher-ups, do not support this war. Does this mean that they, the troops, don't support themselves? That is silly. Don't listen to people who say you don't support our troops if you don't support the war; you can support our troops as much as you want and still think this war is illegal, immoral, and based on lies.

It depends. Do you say you do not believe we can win this fight? Or do you say instead that you just do not support the reasons for the war? It is acceptable to not support the war if you choose. It is also believable that you can support the troops. However, if you believe that the troops cannot complete their mission then you do not support the troops and rather just support the idea of no one else dying. In order to properly support the troops you must believe that they are capable and able to complete their mission, otherwise it is just lip service because you show no confidence in their ability. No matter what none of these positions is right or wrong and I offer this merely as a matter of explanation based on my own viewpoint.

Many people don't understand the views of others, so they criticize them for their opinions. I bet that the people that accuse you of not supporting the war don't understand that you care so much about the Iraqi troops that you wish that the war had never started.

Because the people who accuse you of being "anti-patriotic" have issues themselves. They know that sending troops into Iraq was wrong, and they are using this "anti-patriotism" claim as a defense mechanism. Although there are some people in this country who don't support the troops, they are the vast majority. Not supporting an immoral, unjust war is one thing, not supporting your fellow Americans who are risking their lives for one man's (GW's) fickle cause (doing something his dad couldn't, take out Saddam) to restore some dignity to his family name (which backfired horribly) is entirely different. Just because you don't believe in the reason that they're there doesn't mean that you want them all to die. So, in summary, support the troops, they really need it. But don't support the leader, for he doesn't derserve it.

My first question would be how or what you say regarding the war. Some comments could be easily taken the wrong way, you have to choose your working carefully because people are very passionate in their beliefs, especially regarding this war.
I'm sure you will see in many of your post the typical "name calling" of opposite political parties. These are typical responses here.

Are you bad mouthing the soldiers? If you are you aren't supporting them, no matter how much you protest to bring them home. Soldiers follow orders. They swore an oath to do so, and can go to prison if they don't. Protest the war and the President that sent them there. Never criticize the soldiers that are fighting the war.

I support the troops, but not the war also...I don't think that they should stay out there and continue to lose their lives, leaving families behind that need them. You just have to ignore what others say..you know how you feel...who cares what they think.

When some people have no good arguement against your opinion, they simply resort to name calling and label you as someone that doesn't love their country.
