How does one going about looking for biological parents? Born 1958 in Iowa adopted through Lutheran Ministries. All I have my original first name. It was a closed adoption.

At that time all adoptions were closed.
Try an adoption registry through the state of Iowa.

Hate to break it to you, but there probably was a reason it was closed. If your adoptive parents aren't able to supply further information, one thing to do is to go online and look up adoption forums. There are some sites set-up for adoptees and birth mothers to post information about themselves in an effort to find one another. I wish you the best of luck.

Not all adoptions were closed at that time, to the ignorant girl who wrote in later. Sheesh.
