If you want to be treated as responsible, you have to BE responsible.
How old are you? If you're a minor; respect your parents by doing as your told without talking back / getting attitude with. Be where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there. Don't lie to them. Don't break curfew - in fact, get home 5-10 minutes early! Take care of your room, when you see something that needs to be done around the house, do it without being asked, etc.
If you're an adult and living at home; get a job and a place of your own, for Pete's sake!

Trust is a very serious issue in families. The best way to receive Respect is to Give Respect. In order for your parents to trust you on your own you need to do responsible things...Are you doing well in school? Cleaning up after yourself? Helping around the house? Asking your parents if they need your help with anything? It is a long process and you need to PROVE that you are Responsible!
And don't expect it to come over night, and when it does happen don't destroy that trust because then you will have made a hole for yourself..

EDIT: Melanie (Above me) has it right! My Mum always used to tell me, if I truly respected her and wanted her trust I'd come home 15 minutes early from curfew!!

Convince them ur independent with all of your action. Being responsible for a small thing is the key for the bigger ones.
Ur parents maybe dont believe u because u always rely on them, and suddenly u wanna be free on your own.
Remember, dude, ACTION IS THE PROOF!!

That is a very hard thing for parents dto do.....Trust....... I am not sure how old you are, but if you want your parents to trust you, you must act like a responsible person.....The trust won't happen over night, but it will happen.

make yourself be responsilbe by doing house chores or anythign else without them having to ask you first
show them that you can take care of not only yourself but of them and the material things around your home
