1st off, you have a problem in the air intake/fuel mix area, probably the TPS(throttle position sensor) not very hard to fix and not too expensive, ave. being around $125.00.

2nd, whoever told you it was running off 2 cylinders best stick with their day job and not auto mechanics, Neons won't run on 2 cylinders. It puts too much strain on the crankshaft.

3rd, you would have to look in Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) to get a good recommendation on how much your car is worth.

Good luck and hope this helps.

You need to have a mechanic look at it. It could be as simple as two plug wires pulled off. Maybe somebody wants to buy it cheap so they made it run bad. You can't get much for a car running on two cylinders. Get a real mechanic to look at it, not some neighborhood "expert", that way you will know what the problem is, what it costs to fix and where you stand. You might be able to fix it for a nominal charge. Good Luck.

Could be as simple as a bad coil pack or complicated as timing. Only a real mechanic will be able to tell you for sure. It will be worth the $80.00 or so to have it looked at providing you can get it to them.

BUy the Haynes Repair manual for your vehicle and it will troubleshoot and tell you how to fix any problems.
