600 mg of advil a day is fine, providing the advil you are taking is 200 mg each tab/cap. Advil can be hard on the stomach and may cause constipation. Your stomach pain may unrelated to the advil, but if you haven't moved your bowels I would suggest a stool softener or laxative. A muscle relaxer would be even harder on the stomach--the doctor would probably prescribe an inflammatory medicine which can not only cause constipation but can cause nausea as well.

This will have an effect on your liver if you drink alcohol. But as long as you don't do too much to damage your liver it will repair itself. The highest prescription Ibuprofen is 800 mg I think, and you can take those every 4 to 6 hours. So you can take 3-4 Advil a few times a day and be ok.

Too much. One of the side effects of medications like advil (NSAIDS) is GI bleeding. The scary part is that one can have the stomach bleeding with no warning signs. You are getting a warning, so you need to STOP TAKING IT.
You aren't taking more in one day that is advised, but the instructions say do not take for more than 10 days! Give your doc a call and ask what they suggest you do. They may suggest a medication to take for a couple weeks, to help lower the inflammation in your stomach. Stay away from spicy and greasy foods. Ask what they suggest you take for the shoulder pain. Tylenol may help, as long as you don't overdose on that.

Don't take so much, or really don't take that at all. You must stretch. I know stretching it will hurt but you must endure the pain. I sometimes have soreness in my shoulder, and sometimes my neck gets stiff, but I never take pain medication. You will get addicted to the medication, that's not good.
Also try those icy/hot patches on the area that hurts, those work nicely. Another alternative is that sports creme that comes in a green tube, gotta rub alot of that on it, that will be much better and safer for you than advil every day. Ultimately though, stretching is the best thing you can do for your shoulder, every day for about a good 10-20 mins.

It probably is the Advil. Taking it everyday does take a toll on your system. I used to take the maximum limit of extra strenght Advil a day for headaches and my stomach was painful. I ended up in the hospital because I couldn't stop vomiting, although according to the ER doctor's nothing was wrong with me.
Anyways, you should talk to your doctor and see what you should be doing for your shoulder. Maybe they can prescribe a muscle relaxer that you can use instead of Advil.

Advil is an NSAID, and can cause minor bleeding in the stomach just like aspirin. This can lead to stomach upset.
Just make sure to take the meds with a little food - like a piece of bread - and it will help your stomach.
If the pain persists, have your doctor give you the once over. Lots of stress causes stomach ulcers in many people - and Advil would make that worse.
Just be careful, and take care of yourself, hon.

I think that's temporary and you feel better if you get some sleep. And that 3 a day, that doesn't sound much, but be sure you have a lot of Advil just in case.
