I'm not 100% but I'd say false. I think it was all from DOS

Well, the problem with the question is that it asks if they were *developed* with a GUI, that is, were created or programmed with one. I'd say it was false, because the Graphical User Interface is something that didn't come along until a few years into the computer age, so the oldest operating systems, like DOS, had to be coded by hand in assembly (1s, 0s, or hex).

So I'd say false.

I'm going to go with true, depending on how much 'older' you are referring to.

Even in the early 80's apple macintosh had a GUI, I remember using one at school - and after having used radio shack's TSR-80, and my Texas Instruments TI-4A, I was blown away.

Soon afterwards, Bill Gates 'invented' the idea of windows, and Win3.11 came out. Followed by Win95, Win98, WinME, Win2000, XP, and now Vista. Meanwhile Mac continued to release newer and newer versions of its MacO/S.

Dos was, and still is used quite a bit even after the concept of a 'GUI' came out. Other options include Linux, many versions of which are completely free, and allow you to configure your computer to run specific tasks much better than they could ever run on a windows or even a mac based computer.

Recently Mac switched to using Intel processors for its computers too- now it is feasible to start crossing over software (though the idea of running windows on a mac kind of defeats the purpose).
