As a prior enlistman of the army my mos was a 92alpha automated logistic specialist. I was thinking of reinlisting and was told by a recruiter that I wouldnt have to cross-train (go back to basic). But I am under the impression that I wont have to re-take the Asvab either! So if u dont go to basic/retest, what is included in the process of reinlisting to "get you back into the groove" of things. ***SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE*** If u were'nt a prior enlistman, or arent currently in the service, please do not try to answer this question....

For the little idiot that posted *why would you bother with us if you're looking for serious answers?*. I posted on here because I know out of the thousands of members across the world, I am intelligent enough to realize that I am not the only prior enlistmen or serviceman.

How long have you been out?

Are you comming back in as a 92A?

Once you take the ASVAB, you don't have to take it again. While on active duty, you can take FAST class asnd attempt to raise your scores though.

Don't know about the basic training, I am Navy, not Army. But on your ASVAB is sounds like you are maybe looking for a different or better MOS if you go back in. If you study and retake the ASVAB and get a better score than what you got the first time you will open more doors to what your choices will be. If you go back in you don't have to have the same MOS, but it may be something they may push on you. If I was you I would study for a few weeks, get the ASVAB study guide from the library of Barnes and Noble, and retake the ASVAB just so you know what other career choices you could have. Also, if you are out of the service, you aren't reenlisting you are wanting to reenter the service, not the same thing. Good luck.

You will have to retake the ASVAB because it expires every two years if you are not in service...if you have been out of the Army for more than 8 years you may have to go back through Basic, but I knew a guy who did not because he passed an APFT before shipping...if they do not need 92A's you will have to reclass...you get to choose just like you did when you first came in...if they need 92A you will get a "choice" of duty stations...when I came in from the Reserves my only choice was Korea...but I probably could have gotten something else if I had waited...I suggest if you can not be a 92A choose a MOS that you can do on the outside...a good one for you to consider in 68A (formerly 91A) Bio Medical Equipment Repair...they make mad money on the outside...good luck...

You may have to go to White Sands for the Army reintegration course. It is 4 weeks long. But that depends on how long you have been out of the army.

They would put you in an outfit (upon your request) based on your MOS. Get it in writing as a basis for reenlistment.

There are MCI courses ( written courses) that can be taken, not only to get you up to par but also increase promotion chances.

Good luck

you have to take the ASVAB. it expires every two years. You'll Also need a new physical. You very well might not have to repeat basic training.
