prom is coming up soon and i dont have a date... and my good friend cant go wither her boyfriend because he is in 11th grade.. and she is in 9th. at their school,,, juniors and seniors can only go. i was going to ask hium to go with me bc i have no one else to go with... is this wrong?

Well, when I was in high school, juniors and seniors could ask anyone they wanted to go to the prom, even 9th graders, even people from other schools. If that's not the case at your school, and you should find out for certain, then you should ask your friend what she thinks. If she's okay with it, ask her to ask her BF sometime when they are alone together what he thinks (so that he doesn't feel put on the spot). Not such a bad idea if there are no ulterior motives and you both stay on the up and up.

Good advice.

General rule -- things that might otherwise seem like "cheating" are a lot better if originally negotiated through the partner being "cheated" on.

Once or twice, long ago, I wanted favors from a friend's wife (e.g., come with me to a play reading because she knew about the arts and I'd been asked to invest). I called him up or came into his apartment and loudly said, in a laughing voice "I'd like to borrow your wife!" There was ZERO problem, which is exactly as much as there should have been.
