I'm a guy in my mid-20's and I had heard that rubbing alcohol works very well in clearing up people's faces, so I decided to give it a try. It does seem to work well with pimples but, the problem I've had, is that it has irritated my skin immensely after only one use. I have discontinued using it but the damage has already been done, as the area around my chin and mouth are very red and irritated.

Its been almost two weeks now and I just can't quite seem to make it go away. Originally, I had a lot of peeling but that has mostly subsided at this point. It is still a bit dry and I put lotion on it to help that but nothing seems to help with the redness (I've tried Nvidia lotion, Aloe-based sunburn products, caladryl, benadryl cream). Has anyone had a problem like this before? Short of going to the doctor, do you have any advice? I was trying to avoid going to the doctor, as I felt like it would probably take a couple of weeks just to get an appointment and cost me quite a bit.

Yeah a lot of people make that mistake. I have even seen alcohol mentioned by people on here as a cure for acne. The problem is most moisturizer contain alcohol and/or petroleum products that Will further irritate your skin now that you have damaged it. OK go to beeroyalproducts.com and get their Hydrating Creme Extreme. It is the best moisturizer out there and contains no harmful chemicals. Just remember it is highly concentrated so don't make the mistake I did and put a whole bunch on. Just dip your finger tips in and that should be plenty. Then get the Medicated Spot Treatment and the Medicated Acne Masque with 10% sulfur. That should clear up the acne and fix your dry face. Good Luck.

Wash your face with water and then probably a soft cleanser. I don't suggest rubbing alcohol on your skin anymore. Also follow with a good skin lotion, because the alcohol has dried out your skin and removed oil.

Rubbing alcohol is not to be used on the face. It has seriously dried out your skin. Use a mild soap and warm water only to wash your face and then use a moisturizer a couple of times a day until your skin heals up. Use a moisturizer not lotion to help it heal. Also be sure to wear sunscreen when you go out to help protect your skin.

First , just buy some normal soap and wash with hot water and then cold water.
Put aloe vera gel on face afterwards.
