You bought a dog at a petstore. What trouble did you go through?

Give him to a rescue they will take care of him for life !!!

Do not GIVE your puppy away!!! If people get something for free they treat it as such with a "who cares" attitude. You should let potential adoptors know you will be screening the homes and asking for a adoption fee which you can donate to a local no-kill animal shelter. Try to find a no-kill rescue group in your state. If your dog is a pure bred there are rescue groups for almost every breed in most states. This would be the best route to go. The rescue group will handle pre-screening potential adoptors and the puppy would most likely be put in a foster home until a permanant home can be found. Giving a dog away is never a good idea unless you personally know the person.

You should charge a fee just for the fact that giving it away for free could put the puppy in the wrong hands. There are evil people out there who look for free animals to give to laboraties. Contact a shelter or SPCA for some helpful hints how to get your pup into the best possible home

Like that girl said, never buy a puppy at a pet shop unless you have secure knowledge of where it's from, then why would you buy a puppy just to get rid of it? Only buy a puppy if you want to keep the puppy, but if you have to give it away, give it away, if you want to sell, sell. You can only adertise one way, don't say I'm giving it away but you have to pay a small charge

"YOUR" Troubles?

Of course, not the pup's troubles?

NOPE! This was your mistake, admit it was a mistake, and rectify it. The moral thing to do, is to spend the next while finding a great new owner for your pup. Look for someone who will be all that you hoped you could have been.

There is nothing wrong with making a mistake, and it is admirable for you to want to learn from it. By knowing that you have nothing to gain but knowledge, you can search for a new owner, and ask that any money taken for the dog, be given to the ASPCA.

The ASPCA has too many of these dogs bought from puppymills. They need monetary help. The contribution you make from this experience, will ease your guilt, and make this experience honourable and rewarding to others.

The best thing you could do for your puppy is to find your local humane society or rescue and relinquish him to them. Look on www.petfinder.com to find humane societies and rescues near you. They will be able to advertise his availability better than you can and screen potential owners carefully and find the best home for him. Since he is still a puppy, he should be adopted without much problem.

You took on the responsiblity when you bought him, he should not be considered a "trouble." If you've decided that a dog is not for you, that's fine, but please do the responsible thing and let a good rescue or humane society find the very best permament home for him.

Ok first off you should have not bought from a pet store, Have you heard about puppy mills?, Anyways I would say yes, because if they are willing to pay for the dog they will take better care of it.

i would charge an adoption fee just to make sure that he goes to a good home. someone who has to pay for an animal is usually going to take better care of it than if they got it for free.
