I'd go along with the idea that they are human characteristics.

Yes, they come from the flesh. I see the self-righteousness and arrogance from all sides, not just one particular religion. As far as hypocrisy goes, I don't know about that because I would have to see the person's life and you can't do that on the internet. But I agree with you about the other.

Hypocrisy is human nature and but religious characteristic. One with self-righteousness cannot be blamed if he is really right.

I don't think that most Christians are self-righteous, or hypocritical, but their words and actions are sometimes interpreted that way.

It is a difficult problem for Christians who are commanded to tell the world about Jesus, and to remind people of man's depravity. They are often looked upon just as you describe.

We can see their depravity as well when they answer with unacceptable language.

You can find it anywhere, in any denomination. It knows no age limit either.
Both are a result of not properly understanding the nature of man, and his/her inability to save themselves.
Also, there doesn't seem to be a knowledge of what liscentiousness is.
If these were understood, there would be neither, I think.

Fanatics divert everything in that way. None of the religion is against the human nature.

That is why I find organized religion such a turn-off. Many Christians are judgemental of others. I used to go to church but the minister didn't want sinners in his church. I felt so unwelcome so I quit.

Absolutely, they are part of human nature. One of religion's greatest challenges is to help people overcome these natural tendencies.

They are human characteristics, and we're supposed to use our faith and morality to overcome them.

I'm with you though, it's people like that that give Christianity a bad name.

I agree but it gets confusing when some people use a religion to justify such behaviors.
