Hello, I'm writing to ask if anyone knows the usual term for portraits taken before/after a wedding ceremony of the couple (usually dressed formally, if not in their wedding attire), purely for commemorative purposes? I've seen these being done in beautiful locations or in the studio

Do you mean after they change clothes and are leaving? Thats a going away photo.

usually the bride gets pictures taken of her in her dress with hair and make up done. they are called bridal portraits.
