Jesus taught us to love our neighbors. Some of our neighbors are homosexuals. Some are from other religions. Some are atheists and some are agnostics. Some people use the teachings of Christ to promote hatred towards some or all of the these various groups of people. Isn't this turning the Gospel message of Peace and Love upside down? Doesn't this severely damage the credibility of Christianity? Isn't hatred the opposite of what Jesus represents? Could this possibly be anti-christian?

No fatty fat, I really am literally speaking of people intentionally spreading hate and not simply having different opinions

There are some who claim to be Christian, who are not. Whether they are fundies or liberal Christians.
Is it possible that Satan is using these people to promote anti-Christ thinking... certainly. And some of them are going about is happily fooled.
The Bible clearly teaches that we are to love God and love our neighbors.. Anything which teaches hate of God or hate of a person or persons is in direct opposition to His teachings.
But equally erroneous in thought is to judge all Christians by the poor behavior of those who make the claim but lack the proof so to speak.
I am an imperfect human being who loves Jesus and God with all that I am and I love all of God's creation. But sometimes I do fail to be as kind, loving, forgiving, just, fair, merciful, gentle and freedom giving as I would like to be for His sake. The only thing I can do is ask His forgiveness and pick up my cross and start again.

I am not a fundie Christian but I have to say, you have it all wrong. They are very misunderstood. They don't hate gays. They just say what the bible says, that homosexuality is a sin. They don't hate people of other religions or try to stir up hatred towards them. Jesus said that He is the only way to God the Father and to eternal life. He told us to tell the world and when we do, people think we're being "intolerant or hateful of other religions". In general they are nice and kind hearted people who try to save people even when they know they are going to be misunderstood or hated for it. And that's the truth about it.

They will say that they hate the sin but love the sinner. They wll also say that all of their behavior that looks exactly like hatred of the sinner is really just intended to help the sinner see the error of their ways and is done with love.

If it is a Christians obligation to save the neighbors, they are faling in that obligation when they spew venom towards them.

I say, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Jesus Freak (above)... God loves the sinners and non-believers as much as he loves you, no?

We do not hate homosexuals, we hate homosexuality and all sin, because Yes Jesus tells us to "love our neighbor" but He was angry at the money changers because of thier sin, and we have the ONLY truth, that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to salvation and if you do NOT repent the you are NOT saved, you have only payed lip-service to God and He hates that. So repent and turn to Christ, allow Him to save you and you will escape judgement, if you don't, you won't.

I find it VERY hypocritical of people who say that christians hate just because they (christians) do not agree with someones lifestyle.
Do you 'hate' me when I disagree with you?
You disagree with me and I don't think you hate.
Why is it wrong for me to simply disagree with you?
I think it is wrong for someone to molest a child. Is that hatred? Maybe we should just chuck all morals, and just live like savages. Do you 'hate' when you think it is wrong for someone to steal? Maybe it was ok when that man beheaded his wife, after all, he just made a lifestyle choice, hmmm.
Simply because I don't want someone to hurt themselves or someone else does not make me a hater!
Maybe you should look in the mirror before YOU judge or condemn others for their lifestyle choice!
My choice- I choose to Love Christ AND my neighbor, NOT the sin. Did you get that? LOVE THE PERSON - NOT THE SIN!

The whole debate is just disgusting. Why is it impossible to fix secularistic attitude in the states... for God´s sake, everybody is responsible himself for his/her well being on judgement day. So why is it a problem to tolerate people with other believes..?
If you think you have the right believes be happy... everything else is nothing than the prove that some of our "neighbours" aren´t secure enough about their faith, that they have to ensure their security by forcing others to tell them that they are right...
Sorry, but this is just poor minded...

It can be interpretted to mean whatever you want it too mean. This is the problem with religion.
A couple of muslims thought they would go to heaven for blowing up our tube (underground I think Americans call a subway?:s) year before last, because we are evil non muslims? You really can use it as back up to anything, because there are ways in which all the rules can contradict eachother. xx

Self-righteousness and hypocrisy are not religious characteristics. They are human nature in general. Just read the questions and answers on Yahoo and you will see!
