I had a baby about 5 1/2 months ago and have been breastfeeding exclusively. I have been on a mini-pill but missed a few days. My smell has heightened and I have been feeling sick. Also, my baby has been sleeping through the night for the past month or two so my breastfeeding schedule has changed. Is it possible that I could be pregnant even though I haven't had a period yet?

Sure is. Pregnancy has been known 3 months after birth. Maybe even less.

If conception occurs there will nearly always be no period (sometimes a cycle can occur the first month after pregnancy).

if you had sex then yes you could be pregnant, because you may have ovulated, but more than likely your period is not going to be regular while you breastfeed, that is one of the perks of breastfeeding, usually very light periods or none at all. but the only way to be sure is to take a pregnancy test. My sister got pregnant that early so now she has 2 of them born exactly a year apart, she quit breastfeeding the older one when the baby was born, so yes it could happen, one good thing is that now they are 3 and 4 years old and they can play good together.

Yep, I got pregnant with my daughter when my twins were 10 months old an I never had a period. I breast-fed exclusively the entire time and my OB wouldn't prescribe any birth control while I was nursing. I had actually started to wean the babies and called my doctor for birth control. I got pregnant before I ever picked the pills up from the pharmacy!

Yes you could easily be. I have read about it in lots of books. You could be pregnant without even having your 1st period after this baby. I hope you are not this soon since you will miss out on the joys of this baby.. But if you are, do the best you can and remember this next time! Good luck!

Most definitely!! Even though you're breastfeeding and don't have a period you can still get pregnant. I can't believe your doctor didn't tell you this. Take a test or see your doctor to make sure!! Good Luck!

Absolutely. Ovulation happens about 2 weeks before your period comes so you could have ovulated, had sex at the right time, gotten pregnant, and you wouldn't have had a period. You should test just to be sure.

I got pregnant with my daughter while I was still nursing my son, so yes you could be pregnant. If you are pregnant & you still want to nurse you can. And if you want to nurse them both you can its called "Tandem Nursing".
But you have to stick to a strict diet(like 2500 calories a day)
Obviously you'll have to go to the DR to get the test done.

Good luck & God Bless

I suggest going to the doctor just in case. Best of luck.

ABsolutely. No period while breast feeding doesn't mean that you're also not ovulating.
